After sitting at the table for approximately mins with no service, I got up and walked over to the bar to see if there was anyone who can help us. The hostess waited on us. Now I have to say, she gave us great service for the rest of the evening, so she was really the only positive thing about our experience. The menu appears to have changed for I ordered a grouper fish sandwich. I have never had fish that I had to struggle cutting with a knife. I couldn't eat it.
I ate my fries and the bread. The fish tacos were not great either.
I was very sad after having recommended this place to my sister-in-law who was visiting from out of town. Sad because I really used to enjoy eating here. I wanted to give them another chance, so we triedThe Hook Up again while we were in Biloxi for our yearly visit to Cruisin' the Coast.
We went on Friday night when the place should have been packed with a fair amount of the thousands who descend on Biloxi for this week-long event. We got there about 7: We stepped up to the hostess booth, which was unoccupied, but a few feet away, a woman we took to be the manger was giving three of the servers a good talking-to. One would think she would do that somewhere besides the front of the restaurant.
But still we persisted. We asked for a table outside since this restaurant has a wrap-around balcony porch that looks over the bay. We could see tables open on the porch, but were told there were none available outside. We asked about the ones we saw open and, after about a five minute wait, were grudgingly led to an open table on the porch.
We were dismayed to be handed a piece of paper on which a very limited menu was printed. Our server was Daniel.
He attended as well as he could but was seated with a large party on the deck below us right after he took our orders. He brought us our beverages right away. My husband ordered a po' boy sandwich and salad. I ordered a shrimp pasta dish and salad.

We waited over a half hour. Then the bartender brought us our entrees. I mentioned that we never got our salads. My husband told them to forget about his. Mine came about 10 minutes later.
The Biloxi Lugger
As for the food, my pasta dish tasted like Alfredo sauce out of a jar poured on noodles. There was supposed to peppers and onions on the dish, but I didn't see any. The po' boy sandwich was terrible. My husband grew up in Biloxi, so he has some experience with po' boys. We gave Daniel a generous tip, because it was evident that he was trying hard, but can not be blamed for incompetent kitchen and management.
The biggest tip I wanted to give him was to find a job at a better restaurant. Nice place, great view but the food is inconsistent to say the least. Shrimp and grits were very good. Fish tacos were awful. Supposed to have avacado on them but "they were out".
Salad dressings were also visibly watered down. Out of of sweet potato fries also. Own or manage this property? Claim your listing for free to respond to reviews, update your profile and much more. I ate my fries and the bread. The fish tacos were not great either.

Sad because I really used to enjoy eating here. Not sure of why the changes occurred but I won't be back unless something drastically changes. Great day of fishing with some veterans in the Rivers of Recovery organization. Thanks congressman Steven Palazzo. Sections of this page. Email or Phone Password Forgotten account?
